Migrant Education Program
The Santa Maria-Bonita School District’s Migrant Education Program is very successful in providing many supplemental services to over 3600 Migrant students. Some of these services are:
- Migrant Extended Day (Adam, Alvin, Battles, Bruce, Fairlawn, Miller, Oakley, Ontiveros, Sanchez)
- Migrant before /after school homework clubs (Arellanes, Arellanes Jr. High, Bonita, Fesler Jr. High, Liberty, Rice, Taylor, Tunnell, Kunst Jr. High, El Camino Jr. HIgh)
- Migrant Saturday School
- Migrant Education School Readiness (MESRP) Parent /Child Home visits
- MESRP is a family literacy program for parents and their preschool children. Families with children from ages three to five are given priority for services.
- Parents for Quality Education (PIQE)
- PIQE's programs engage, empower, and transform parents to actively engage in their children's education and strengthen parent-school collaboration in order to improve the academic success of students.
- Continuous Learning Packets
- Supplemental emergency medical assistance/referral, dental or vision care (when all other community resources have been exhausted)
- MEPIC Resource Center
- Migrant Summer School
- Educational Field Trips
